Testosterone Therapy May Benefit Men With Heart Failure Risk

Italian researchers report that male testosterone injections increases heart muscle strength and the blood pumping ability of heart in men with heart failure risk.

Dr. Ferdinando Iellamo, an assistant professor of internal medicine at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, and lead author of a report says that ” from our study it seems that testosterone supplementation is beneficial for both patients with normal and low testosterone levels, however the improvements are higher in those with low levels.”

Testosterone supplementation for heart failure has been controversial in certain cases. It was found that almost one in four men with heart failure risk has testosterone deficiency, as the production of hormone will be decreased with age.
