Cystitis is another name for bladder infection. It is the infection and inflammation of the urinary bladder. So, it is also called as urinary tract infection (UTI).

Don’t get confused with both the names. Mainly it is a bacterial infection that affects any part of the urinary tract.

Cranberries give many health benefits. You can find cranberry extract capsules and when these capsules are taken, you will be free from bladder infection. This fruit contains a compound called proanthocyanidins which offer an anti-adhesion property and prevents harmful bacteria from naturally sticking to the urinary tract.

You can also drink cranberry juice. It is a great home remedy to treat bladder infection. The bladder infection is most common in women and is somewhat painful and the juice will give great relief.

Cranberries contain a substance called tannin which helps to stay the bacteria away from sticking to the lining of the bladder. Most of the women will also experience bladder infection even after the medical treatment. In this case, cranberries will greatly help you.

You need to drink seven or eight ounces of the cranberry juice in a day. But there is no evidence that proves about the curing of bladder infection with cranberry juice.

Blueberries can also be used to treat bladder infection and it is theoretically tested.
